The whole book is a model of the spiritual battle we are engaged in today. (see also Paul’s letter to the Ephesians) The promises in Christ have already been fulfilled, our task is also to «take possession» of these blessings through faith and conquer through the proclamation of the truth, the Word of God. The enemy will not give them to us willingly, just as Israel’s enemies did not either.

Our struggle consists mainly in listening, understanding and putting into practice what God’s will is in the specific situation … This is also called wisdom. If God is with us, who can be against us? The question is: Is God with us in what we are facing right now? Or are we doing our own will, which is not necessarily sin? However, we often withdraw from sanctification (becoming more like Jesus) and from serious discipleship.

A good and brief prayer:

Lord Jesus, how can I bring you joy today?

Then it is advisable to wait for the answer … In my case, this came to my mind: Come and enjoy my presence, be a little like Mary and leave the activities of a Martha … choose what is best.

your nation needs prayers like you…pray for your Government

From system critic to intercessor for our government !!!

When God’s Spirit began to speak. … only this word came: SYSTEM CRITICS!

When you get such impulses, it is always advisable to ask further and find out what God really wants to say.

There are those who simply find everything shit… and every politician is somehow incapable and needs our verbal negative utterance, be it on the TV at the news broadcasts, at the regulars’ table, in leisure activities, etc. We are all programmed for the bad in such a way that we speak negatively accordingly. Yes, they make mistakes and they are not perfect. Yes, they have a great responsibility and fail, yes they may do many other things that I don’t want to mention here … BUT … are we all so really better and more perfect????

These are the sounds and activists who often voice your criticism and are, so to speak, seemingly more just and more knowledgeable than the rest of the nation.

Since I’m not like that, I thought I’m wiser and better. But then He showed me the other variation of arrogance.

The ignorant … those who are not interested in anything that is going on in the federal government’s ministries. These are the quiet and indifferent. Not good either. Because you decide on complete disinterest and believe that you can’t change anything anyway.

The sages are the quiet, but not when it comes to prayer for our leaders and rulers in your nation. The sounds are also required … but to pray with wisdom and love and humility before God the Almighty … on the knees this is always good, if it is possible for you to health.

When Timothy gave the following exhortation, Christians were often persecuted by state power. We have the privilege of living in a democracy. Many others of our brothers and sisters in the world do not have this blessing.

A Call to Prayer

First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, ² for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. ³ This [kind of praying] is good and acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, ⁴ who wishes all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth. Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. Romans 12:2 NCV

Every day has the potential for change … more like Jesus, more being a servant instead of an absorbent dry sponge on Sundays at church. Only through spending personal time in the word and prayer we can know HIM better and we allow HIM to change us. HIS ways are better and our flesh will scream, Lord do you really want me to do this and mean it?

Good ideas are not always GOD ideas and GOD ideas are always good ideas.

A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps.

Father God… I need to make some changes, start again, and try something new. I feel stuck in my old ways and I know you want me to grow past those ways and become a better person. Help me grow stronger in my faith so that my actions will measure up to the new standards I have in you. I give you all what hinders to follow closer. I often run away because I am afraid or just to lazy to overcome my daily bad habits and routines I am so used to. I want to give it up and make more room for you in my heart, so you can change me from the inside out. Lord, I need to hear your voice and be more obedient. I admit – I think I am wise enough to know what is good and evil – but the world is full of pitfalls and I am blind and often I deceive myself in thinking… It is okay. But I know sin is not okay it takes me out of my closeness to you, my precious savior. Today I stop my excuses and self pity. Help me to become more faithful, deliberate and intentional about seeking your direction and help me serve you with joy.

¹⁴ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Yes your time with God… will make a difference

Perhaps you often feel like me. We neither think nor feel like praying or are already so discouraged that everything seems pointless and only speak words that have no effect.

Well, it may feel that way subjectively, but there are spiritual truths that run counter to our emotional states. The Bible says that the prayer of the righteous can accomplish much if it is earnest.

So I encourage you to start the day with HIM… if you do not know what to pray? Just thank HIM that you are allowed to come in Jesus name and pray the Lord’s prayer…

and end the day with HIM… ask him to forgive you where you failed and forgive those who provoked you to anger.

Ephesians 4

²⁶ “In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, ²⁷ and do not give the devil a foothold.

These are all spiritual disciplines and we need to apply and implement them in our daily routine, such as brushing teeth or taking a shower.
